Switch game boxes are about to go a slight change in Southeast Asia, but it’s going to be big news for those who love physical game collecting and clean artwork.

Nintendo has announced that starting with Another Code: Recollection, all first party Switch physical games in Southeast Asia will forgo the ESRB age rating on the cover of the box. This means Switch collectors will finally have a way to snack physical first party games without an ESRB logo obscuring a piece of the artwork.

Going forward in 2024, first party Switch games in Southeast Asia will retain the MSE region code, “Official Product” logo, and a unique Nintendo Co, Ltd (Japan) barcode, but all of that will be on the back of the box. The only exception will come from first party games with an IMDA 18+ age rating, which will still be featured on the front of the box.
