We’ve seen it happen time and time again. Whenever something gets popular, unsavory characters try to make a quick buck by creating fakes, knockoffs and cash-ins. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what’s happening to Aladdin X, the developer behind the massively popular Suika Game.

Just this week we learned that Suika Game has surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide, and it shows no signs of slowing down. Sadly, this week also brought with it a listing for ‘The Suika Game’ on the PlayStation Store, complete with the image you see above. While that artwork and the game’s name certainly make things seem legit, this is unfortunately nothing more than a copycat title.

Eurogamer spoke to Aladdin X about the matter, and they said that they have absolutely nothing to do with ‘The Suika Game.’ This clone game comes from Gogame Console Publisher Ltd, and they are yet to comment on ‘The Suika Game’ or its obvious pilfering of Suika Game. Should they make a statement on the matter, we’ll make sure to bring it to you.
