It’s been both a great and rough year for Odyssey Interactive, the team behind Omega Strikers. The developers launched their free-to-play game on Switch back in April of this year, but sadly, we learned that the team is moving on to their next game with the end of 2023. It’s clear that things didn’t go quite as planned for Omega Strikers, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t a lot of great moments and a ton of fun to be had.

In a new video from Odyssey Interactive, we get a look back at all that went down with Omega Strikers in 2023. There’s plenty of highlights, including multiple tournaments and big-name support, but there’s also some sad moments, like the announcement of the end of new content for the game. It’s a bittersweet video, but one that really shows the highs and lows developers can go through when launching a brand-new IP.

For those who don’t know yet, by the end of this year, the Odyssey team is pivoting to work on new games set in the Omega Strikers universe. Servers for Omega Strikers will stay on and the devs will continue releasing balance updates for the foreseeable future. After this year there won’t be any more new skins, maps, strikers, awakenings, or Striker Passes. Last but not least, any purchases you made in Omega Strikers will carry over as premium currency granted to you in their next game.
