Those who have and haven’t watched Pokémon Concierge can all agree on one thing. The show’s style is drop-dead gorgeous, employing a vivid color scheme and whimsical designs to showcase the series’ incredible stop-motion approach. It’s a visually stunning creation, and one many hope the Pokémon Co. employs in games going forward.

The visual approach to Pokémon Concierge is so impressive that it’s inspiring fans the world over, and that includes pixel artist Brandon James Greer. He was so moved by what he saw in the series that he wanted to try and capture the style in something a bit more traditional. That’s why he put his skills to work with the goal of recreating Pokémon Concierge in pixel form.

There’s obviously an insane amount of work that needs to be done in order to retain the look and feel of Pokémon Concierge in such a limited medium, but if anyone is up to the task, it’s certainly Brandon. In the video above, you can see the approach Brandon takes and all the work that goes into what ends up being a rousing success at the end.
