In honor of the new year kicking off, Capcom has released a special message for Monster Hunter fans that looks back on the series’ achievements in 2023, and also shares some plans for what’s to come in 2024.

In a short video featuring Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, we learn that Capcom has some plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter, which will arrive in March 2024. Hunters can expect the results of a vote that asked fans to name their favorite Monster from across the series, and that will include a special illustration showcasing the top 3 Monsters.

Capcom also gave an update on Monster Hunter Rise, stating that the game has sold 13 million copies worldwide so far. That’s actually the same figure Capcom revealed back in March of 2023, which included the combined totals for all versions. We don’t know how much closer that figure has inched to 14 million in that time, but hopefully that milestone can be hit this year.

There’s going to be a lot more to come for the 20th anniversary of the Monster Hunter franchise, and Capcom stays to stay tuned to the official Monster Hunter 20th anniversary website for details.
