Shiren the Wanderer: TMDoSI hits 200k sold, fastest-selling entry ever

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. previously announced that the roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island for Switch is coming to North America and Europe on February 27, 2024. While we still have a few weeks to wait, our friends in Japan have been enjoying the game for awhile now, and the latest sales figures are in.

According to Spike Chunsoft, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island has achieved 200k units moved through shipments and digital sales. The title launched in Japan back on January 25th, 2024, so the title has been selling quite briskly. As a matter of fact, this installment in the long-running Shiren the Wanderer series is now the fastest-selling ever!

The Mystery Dungeon offers endless gameplay with procedurally generated dungeon maps, enemies, and loot to ensure that every game will be a new challenge for even the most seasoned adventurers. Shiren starts at level one each time he enters a dungeon, so he needs to grow by defeating enemies, gathering loot, and building strength. All the gear and levels Shiren accumulates will be lost if he collapses during exploration and must restart from scratch. The action progresses on a turn-based system, which allows players to plan carefully and thoughtfully. Players must use their accumulated knowledge, experience, and imagination to succeed.
