Nintendo says The Super Mario Movie boosted Mario mobile games, plan to continue IP expansion outside of games

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was a much bigger success than anyone predicted, ending up one of 2023’s highest-grossing movies. The film’s success even drove it all the way to second place overall for all animated films in terms of revenue. It’s no surprise that Nintendo saw quite a bump from all that attention, and not just through box office revenue.
