Sonic's creative director shares a special Lunar New Year message

Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new year based on the lunar calendar, and the kickoff for Lunar New Year 2024 happens to be today, February 10th, 2024! In honor of the big date, Kazuyuki Hoshino, the creative director for Sonic the Hedgehog, has shared a special video message. You can see everything Hoshino has to say above.

For most of the video, Hoshino thanks Sonic fans the world over for their support in 2023. Along with that, we get a recap of all the big Sonic things that took place last year, including the launch of Sonic Superstars and Sonic Origins Plus. Sonic was also front-and-center at TGS 2023, which allowed plenty of fans to connect with SEGA and Sonic in some exciting ways.

To recognize the start of the Lunar New Year, SEGA is also running a Sonic-related giveaway that could net you a Sonic plushie, a Sonic t-shirt, and a signed piece of art.
