Believe it or not, the amiibo line as we know it comes to an end today. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any other amiibo released in the future, but as of right now, we know of no other amiibo in the works.
Today brings us to the launch of the Sora amiibo, which not only wraps the announced amiibo lineup, but it also closes out the amiibo for Smash Bros. Ultimate. Nintendo has been working for multiple years to bring the characters of Smash Bros. Ultimate to life in amiibo form, and now they’re sending things off with one heck of a special release.
There was a time when Sora in Smash Bros. Ultimate seemed like a pipe dream. Fans thought there would be too much legal red tape to work through, with Nintendo having to strike a deal with both Square Enix and Disney to make it happens. Surprisingly, Nintendo did just that, bringing one of the most sought-after characters to the Smash universe.
