A new Splatoon 3 collaboration has been announced for Japan, and it’s a rather tasty-looking one!
Nintendo and Calbee are teaming up for a new Splatoon 3-themed potato chip collaboration, and it’s set to kick off on March 18th, 2024 in Japan. This tie-in will feature new regional Splatfest and squid ink-colored potato chips. Those who snag the squid ink-colored Calbee potato chips can look forward to a Consommé-flavored experience.
It’s not just the chips that are getting a Splatoon 3 influence, as the potato chip bags are getting a makeover as well. The special Splatoon 3 chip bags will feature the default Inkling in both squid and kid form.
Taking things even further, the next Splatoon 3 Splatfest in Japan is set for this month, and it will be potato chip-themed. The Splatfest will have squids facing off over which flavor of chip they like the most; salt, consommé, or nori seaweed. Even better, a special lottery will be held, and 600 lucky participants will win one of the above Potato Chips Fest t-shirts. 200 versions of each shirt will be available.
