Stardew Valley’s Ver. 1.6 update has been in the works for a long, long time. We’ve been covering this upcoming patch for the better part of two years now, getting tiny glimpses of what it’ll include here and there. Stardew dev ConcernedApe took to social media to announce that the PC version of Stardew Valley’s Ver. 1.6 update is set to launch on March 19th, 2024, with the Switch version coming sometime after. Thanks to an info sheet shared a few months back, we know Ver. 1.6 will include the following components:

While that seems like a lot for one update, that’s apparently just the tip of the iceberg. Polygon had the chance to talk to ConcernedApe about Ver. 1.6, and not only did he share how it’s coming along, he also teased more content than expected.

“It’s stressful, but it’s also exciting. The releases are the most fun part of game development. It’s when you actually see people playing it and talking about [the game] and sharing their screenshots. So I’m really looking forward to that. It’s also a time of high intensity. The patch is pretty much ready to go. But there’s a few things I still need to do. Until everything is totally sealed, it’s going to be a little bit stressful. What I released is just a little bit. There’s a lot more of the update than people think.”
