There was a time when Nintendo fans thought they’d never get a chance to play either Ori and the Blind Forest or Ori and the Will of the Wisps, as they were exclusive to Microsoft. As you now know, Microsoft had a change of heart with the Ori franchise and decided to bring both titles over to Switch owners. Not surprisingly, that seems to have been a great decision.

Moon Studios is the company behind the development of both Ori titles, and company CEO Thomas Mahler has shared some insight into how the games sold. While we don’t get a breakdown between both titles, we do know that combined sales have surpassed 10 million units worldwide. We also don’t know what the split is between platform sales, but there’s no doubt the Switch releases contributed considerably.

If you haven’t played either Ori games, now would be a perfect time to do so. Both Ori and the Blind Forest or Ori and the Will of the Wisps are currently steeply discounted on the Switch eShop for a limited time. From now until March 16th, 2024, you can get Ori and the Blind Forest for $6.59 and Ori and the Will of the Wisps for $9.89. If you’re on still on the fence, Ori and the Blind Forest has a free demo up for grabs as well.

Good for Xbox. It's nice to see a smaller title of theirs succeed.
