After some setbacks due to various Hollywood strikes, filming for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 got fully underway back in August of last year. It’s been 7 long months since the cameras started rolling, but now we have confirmation that things on set have officially wrapped up.

Actor James Marsden, who appeared in both Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has finished filming. As with any films, there’s sure to be some reshoots and pickups as the year rolls on, but principle filming is now in the can. That means its time for the editors to step in and get to work!

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to arrive in theaters December 20th, 2024, which means we’ve got 9 long months to whittle away until we see Sonic back on the big screen. Hopefully we get some other Sonic content in the meantime in order to make the wait less brutal!
