There are constantly multiple reasons to talk about NieR:Automata, as the brand has expanded in multiple directions. There’s the game itself, the anime adaptation, the huge variety of merch, and as of today, there’s a special promotional campaign heading for Japan.

Tower Records has announced that as of March 26th, 2024, some of their retail locations in Japan will be getting a NieR:Automata makeover. Select stores will be draped head to toe in NieR:Automata posters and motifs, and it’s all to celebrate the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray box set release for the NieR:Automata Ver1.1a anime on March 27th, 2024.

Tower Records has been running a “No Anime, No Life” campaign for awhile now to promote various anime releases, and NieR:Automata Ver.1.1a is the latest collaboration. Those who drop by Tower Records will even be able to pick up some NieR:Automata x No Anime, No Life collaborative posters and acrylic stands, as they’ll be thrown in alongside the purchase of the NieR:Automata anime box set. Even Tower Records receipts will be adorned with NieR:Automata imagery.

As for in-store events, Tower Records locations will play the Japanese voice of 2B, Yui Ishikawa, for their opening call each day until April 8th, 2024. Last but not least, seven stores will showcase posters autographed by Nier Automata Ver 1.1a director Ryoji Masuyama.
