Love or hate his games, you can’t deny that Suda51 is a beacon in the game industry. He has a clear vision for his games and a well-defined style, and he’s always true to himself in whatever he creates. That’s led to the developer having quite the cult following, and that only grows as the years roll on.

While Suda51 has been making games for decades, it was No More Heroes that really put him on the map. That’s the title that spawned a franchise and a legion of fans as well, and of course, those fans are always hungry for more. That’s why some are wondering if we could ever see a No More Heroes 4, and in an interview with PalletteSwap, Suda51 talked about that possibility.

Ah… at the moment, I feel that with No More Heroes 3, I’ve wrapped up the series. …I don’t currently have any plans to do a fourth, and honestly I don’t even know if there will be a fourth. That’s not to say that I’m not going to, it’s just that it’s not really my choice, it’s more of, will Travis come back for me again, you know? Marvelous actually owns the IP, so if I did want to do a fourth, I would have to talk to them anyway. It’s not something to be ruled out completely but if it were to happen it would be pretty far off.

While Travis’ fate is currently up in the air, the next thing we’ll see from Suda51 is actually a revisit of a past project. Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is coming to Switch later this year, and it revamps the 2011 release from Suda51, Massimo Guarini, and Shinji Mikami. In an interview with Paste Magazine, Suda51 explains why 2024 is the time for this title to make a return.

I’ve actually been wanting to bring it back for modern audiences for a long time. There are a lot of things in the game that I feel may actually fit better with the current market than it did thirteen or fourteen years ago when it came out. And I’m really happy that we’re finally able to do that and get people who didn’t play it before to play it now on current platforms. There was a lot that went on to do it, but it is one of my babies, and I am proud of it and happy with how it turned out.
