Time for the dynamic duo's return?

Nintendo hasn’t done much with the Mario & Luigi series in recent years. The latest entry in the franchise was Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey back in 2018, but that was a remake of an earlier title with new content added. If you want the most recent-brand new entry in the series, you have to go back to 2015 for Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam.

Nearly a decade without a new Mario & Luigi game is pretty darn rough, especially for those who prefer the more traditional RPG trappings of that series versus the experimentation of the Paper Mario titles. While Nintendo hasn’t hinted at a new entry for Mario & Luigi, a recent survey does let us know that the Big N hasn’t forgotten about the franchise.

Nintendo is sending a new survey out to some newsletter subscribers about Mario’s various RPG outings. In particular, the survey asks questions about familiarity and interest in Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario, and finally, Mario & Luigi. Again, there’s no mention of a new installment, but instead, the survey aims to gather information on how familiar fans are with all of these series’.

Mario & Luigi developer AlphaDream declared bankruptcy back in 2019, which no doubt hurt the Mario & Luigi series going forward. Whether Nintendo is looking to regroup and start fresh remains to be seen, but it’s nice to know that the games remain at least somewhere near the forefront of Nintendo’s higher-ups.

@kingbroly How? The game sold out on Amazon 2 months b4 it's release. It seems to me that (sales) number either is still going up, or it's gonna stay stagnant and as you say, flop.
