Masahiro Sakurai is back with yet another installment in his game development video series, and this one falls into the “Planning and Game Design” category.

According to Sakurai, games are made up of sets of numbers, but it’s up to their creators to decide what feelings those numbers convey. Like graphics and sound, game parameters are a kind of art, so you want them to be memorable.

There are plenty of games out there that offer similar gameplay styles or designs, but with the right set of tweaks and adjustments, a game can go from feeling clunky and forgettable to incredibly hard to put down. The parameters a developer establishes could be the key to nailing that feeling!
