Nearly 15 years after its original launch on Wii, Epic Mickey is getting another chance to shine with Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, launching for Switch later this year. While the core gameplay elements and adventure will remain the same, the devs behind this title are going all-out to make sure this is the definitive way to experience Mickey’s journey.

For awhile now, we’ve known about the multiple tweaks and adjustments that Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is getting over the original release, but today brings us a bit more insight. Thanks to a GameSpot interview with senior producer Pan Schröder, we know that Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed should be a much smoother experience when compared to the original.

Schröder has said that the dev team has changed the controls, enhanced the camera, and even translated motion controls to the analog sticks. That means if you don’t want to enjoy the game with motion controls, you can go a more traditional route. This was no easy task, as motion controls were a big part of the original release, but it seems this team is up to the task…or at least we hope!
