Switch OLED hits 7 million sold in Japan alone
Another feather in Switch's cap
The Switch OLED released back in October of 2021 and it quickly became the most sought-after version of Nintendo’s current hardware. The Switch OLED has remained the focus for new Switch owners ever since, and that continued interest has helped push the platform to a new milestone in Japan.
With the latest round of sales data, we now know that the Switch OLED has reached 7 million sold in Japan alone. The platform managed to achieve that figure after 131 weeks of availability, and it continues to be the #1 hardware chart-topper in Japan to this day.
That 7+ million makes the Switch OLED the second best-selling hardware revision in Japan, and it’s unlikely to reach #1 status. That’s because top honors go to the Nintendo DS Lite, which managed to move an incredible 16.7 million units when all was said and done.
