Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts came out on the Xbox 360 all the way back in 2008, but it was an extremely divisive entry in the series, as it moved away from 3D platforming for a heavier focus on vehicle building and exploration. The last mainline installment in the series was Banjo-Tooie, which launched in 2000, which means its been nearly 25 years without a numbered installment in the franchise.

There have been rumblings of a new Banjo-Kazooie title for years now, but recently it seems like something really is going to happen. What platforms that title winds up on remain a mystery, but as far as things go right now, nothing official has been announced. That leaves N64 fans once again waiting and wishing, but at least the fan community to keep our dreams alive.

The YouTube Channel Project Dream has released the video above, which is their vision of what Banjo-Threeie could be like. Everything from the music and style, color and characters seems to channel the spirit of the franchise while taking it to the next level. Without a doubt, its an absolutely beautiful idea of what could be one day.

Fans aren’t the only ones paying attention to this Banjo-Threeie trailer, as Banjo-Kazooie co-creator Steve Mayles shared the video on X, calling it “very cool, sounds great too!” Let’s hope out of everyone out there watching this video, Microsoft is paying the closest attention.
