Wes Ball is the director for the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda movie, but that’s not the only iron he’s got in the fire. Ball is out and about right now promoting Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, but as you’d suspect, everyone is hounding him on the red carpet to try and get some info on Link’s silver screen debut.

IGN had the chance to chat with Ball at Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ red carpet premiere, and they asked him to share some insight into what his favorite Legend of Zelda installment is. After thinking for a bit, Ball came up with the best answer he could have by say, “I better not say.”

Ball knows it’s a win or lose situation no matter what game he mentioned, and he also figured fans online would draw all kinds of conclusions based on his answer. Ball even chimed in to IGN via X to share some follow-up comments on the exchange, and you can read that blurb below.

Relax guys. I’m one of you. I’ve just learned from a wise man; when it comes to Zelda, best to say nothing as things just get misinterpreted. (But judging on these comments, that’s probably gonna happen no matter what… sheesh)
