The Exit 8 dev says they're done making similar games

The Exit 8 came to Switch less than 2 months ago, giving Nintendo fans a chance to see what made the title go viral when it first launched on PC.

The Exit 8 is a short walking simulator inspired by Japanese underground passageways, liminal spaces and back rooms. Its success spawned a similar title from KOTAKE CREATE called Platform 8, but there’s no word on whether or not that will make its way to Switch. What we do know is that KOTAKE CREATE is pretty much done with their walking simulator titles.

According to comments from KOTAKE CREATE on social media, they are satisfied with how The Exit 8 and Platform 8 were received, and they originally created those games due to their interest in subways. With both fans and KOTAKE CREATE pleased, the dev says they don’t plan on releasing anymore games in The Exit 8 universe.

KOTAKE CREATE will be working on something complete different for their next title. Should it get announced for Switch, we’ll be sure to let you know.
