You might remember that way back in 2019 The House of the Dead 2: Remake was announced alongside The House of the Dead: Remake. While that original remake has been available since 2022, we haven’t really heard a peep about the sequel. That is, until today…

PEGI has just added in a rating for The House of the Dead 2: Remake, which no doubt signals that the sequel should be seeing release in the not-too-distant future. Again, we already knew this remake was in the works, but seeing the rating pops up shows that things have indeed been moving along behind the scenes.

With a Nintendo Direct slated for sometime this month and this The House of the Dead 2: Remake rating surfacing, you have to wonder if Nintendo, SEGA and Forever Entertainment are planning a reveal during the presentation. Well, we’ll find out if that’s the case over the next 2+ weeks!

UPDATE: The House of the Dead 2: Remake has now been rated for Switch by the ESRB as well. You can read the official ESRB description for the game below.

This is a rail shooter light gun game in which players assume the role of an agent in search of a missing colleague in Venice, Italy. From a first-person perspective, navigate through the city while using pistols to shoot and kill zombies and mutant creatures. Killing creatures often results in decapitation and/or dismemberment, with large blood-splatter effects. Combat is often fast paced, accompanied by gunfire, screams of pain, and large explosions. A handful of sequences depict civilians attacked and killed by enemy creatures.

AWESOME! To me this is the best of the series being made even better. I won't be getting it for Switch, though. I have a good lightgun for my PC.

I'm really worried about this one. The remake of the first game was rough to say the least. It had major hit detection issues and ran seriously bad on Switch.
