If you ever needed more proof that remakes were the way for companies to go, look no further than Resident Evil 2.

Capcom has announced that the remake of Resident Evil 2 has now sold 13.9 million units worldwide across all platforms combined. This figure is good enough to make Resident Evil 2 Remake the best-selling Resident Evil game of all-time.

Resident Evil 2 Remake eventually came to Switch in November 2022 in the form of a Cloud Version. There’s a demo available on the Switch eShop for this version, which should let you see if your internet is up to snuff in terms of streaming. If you give the demo a try and decide you want to grab the full game, now would be the perfect time to do so, as there’s a 60% discount until July 8th, 2024.

A deadly virus engulfs the residents of Raccoon City in September of 1998, plunging the city into chaos as flesh eating zombies roam the streets for survivors. An unparalleled adrenaline rush, gripping storyline, and unimaginable horrors await you. Witness the return of Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 2 Remake outselling Resident Evil 2... so the majority of people who have played this game only know the 'new' version and not the original.

Guessing a lot of people who got the remake also played the original.
