There has been talk for literally years now about a potential release of the Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch. Now that rumor has shifted a bit, and it’s focus is on the original Metroid Prime.

According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, a man who’s gotten countless inside scoops before, the original Metroid Prime is getting a remaster for Switch. That title is going to most likely see release in November to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Metroid Prime.

While this is a very exciting rumor, some might be wondering what happened to the Metroid Prime Trilogy rumor. According to Grubb, all three games are still likely to release on Switch, but only the original Prime is going to get the remaster treatment. The other two Prime games will be straightforward ports.

I don't believe Grubb made any mention of a month, just a big holiday release. Pokemon is scheduled for November. I doubt Nintendo wants Pikachu to crush Samus' toes.

I read this on Gamespot and they said its "possible dual-stick and gyro controls could both be included, and the improvements will likely be greater in Metroid Prime than in 2 or 3."

It wouldn't surprise me to see Nintendo sell Metroid Prime Trilogy piecemeal at €60 a pop.

Jeff though hasn't said anything new that we haven't already heard before. These games have been supposedly ready for quite some time.

Wasn't there supposed to be a MP remake, not just a remaster? Damn these rummours should be shot down soon.
