As of today, the action side-scroller game, Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony, is available digitally for Nintendo Switch. Developer Frontier Aja and publisher CFK have now released a launch trailer for the game to mark the occasion, which you can check out above. Based on the Touhou Project, Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony is an action side-scroller game that, compared to the original, presents enhanced gameplay experience with upgrades such as full Japanese voice over, new game difficulty and partner, challenges (achievements), gallery and HD remastered graphics.
● A High-quality Action Game Featuring the Touhou Characters
A mysterious castle has appeared at where the Scarlet Devil Mansion should have been. As the shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei, the player heads to the castle as they fight enemies that stand in their way. The residents of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, including Hong Meiling, Sakuya Izayoi and Alice Margatroid, will wait for the player in each stage and start an intense danmaku (bullet hell) battle to keep the player from finding the hidden truth.
Reimu uses “Purification Wand” for close combat, and “Ofuda” for dealing with flying enemies. She can switch between the two weapons depending on what type of enemy she is facing, and also fly in the air if necessary. Plus, Marisa Kirisame and Cirno join Reimu as her partners, providing support fire with their partner skills at the cost of Souls.
● Suika Ibuki and A Bunch of Bonus Features
Gamers who have played the original version will discover a number of new features in Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony. For example, Suika Ibuki, the boss in Stage 5, now joins Reimu in her adventure as her third partner. The “Extra Easy” difficulty is now available for gamers who are not familiar with action games.
In addition, gamers can acquire various titles by unlocking in-game achievements, review the past story events and music tracks in the collection, and enjoy many other bonus features that provide another fun to the game.
Last but not least, clearing the game will unlock the “Extra” mode, where Reimu will once again head to the Scarlet Devil Castle and meet hidden bosses that await her challenge.

Koumajou Remilia: Scarlet Symphony supports full Japanese voice over, featuring the cast of popular voice actors (or “seiyuus”) in Japan. The cast is worth taking a look for not only the gamers, but also the fans of Japanese voice actors.
