The Rusty Sword: Vanguard Island came to Switch back in May of this year, and it’s very much inspired by classic Legend of Zelda games from decades ago. If you missed out on that launch, you can grab it right now for just $1! If you’ve already completed that adventure and had some fun, you can help bring the newly-announced sequel to Switch as well.

The Rusty Sword: Runelock Island is the follow-up to Vanguard Island, and it looks to expand on the first outing with a large overworld, eight dungeons, two towns, many areas of interest, and local two-player co-op. Basically, it’ll offer everything you loved about the first game, but a TON more!

Base funding for The Rusty Sword: Runelock Island sits at $150k, and the Kickstarter campaign for the game just launched. If you want to help make a Switch version a reality, pledge some cash to the Kickstarter here.

For anyone that hasn't played it, the reason it's only $1 is because the game can be finished in less than 20 minutes. Yes, I had read the eShop description prior to purchasing the game where they say the game is "short", but I expected that to mean 1 or 2 hours, not 15-20 minutes. Even at only $1 they had no business selling that game in its current state. Looking at the Kickstarter page, a couple of the screenshots look to be of the one single dungeon from that game, so it almost looks like they charged you a dollar to play a demo of their next game.
