Infinity Knights: Xross Kickstarter now live
Help bring this one to Switch
June 25, 2024 - Independent game developer Timesea Studio is thrilled to launch their crowdfunding campaign for Infinity Knights: Xross.
Announced last month, Infinity Knights: Xross brings back the magic of three-player couch co-op in the setting of fantastical RPG about a king and his Infinity Knights manipulating the rules of life and death. Drawing inspiration from classic RPGs such as Secret of Mana and Dark Cloud, Infinity Knight: Xross features meticulously-crafted pixel art, innovative gameplay systems, an engaging story, and music by Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Indivisible), which can be heard in the Kickstarter trailer.
The campaign has a funding goal of 55,000 AUD (Australian Dollars) and will run for 30 days. Rewards include all the essentials: the game (starting at approximately $23.50 USD), soundtrack, art book, and exclusive access to demo builds as well as the ability to contribute to the design of the game’s locations, enemies, items, and characters. Infinity Knights: Xross is live on Kickstarter today.
Infinity Knights: Xross innovates on classic JRPGs of yore with a clever system centered around The Armaments: weapons capable of reviving slain enemies. As Xross, the newest member of the Infinity Knights, players must master these weapons and explore both static and randomly-generated dungeons as they uncover the game’s deep story. Infinity Knights: Xross is planned for release on Nintendo Switch in late 2025.

Atari Announces Expanded Edition of Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration
For the diehard fans
Atari and developer Digital Eclipse are excited to announce a significant expansion to their acclaimed 2022 release Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection. The new version, entitled Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration Expanded Edition, adds two new timelines and 39 games to the playable Atari retrospective. The game will release October 25 on Switch physically and digitally.
The physical release will include a Steelbook version for Nintendo Switch, which will come with Atari 2600 art cards, miniature arcade marquee signs, an Al Alcorn Replica Syzygy Co. business card, and a Steelbook case. The standard version will retail for $39.99 USD, and the Steelbook will retail for $49.99 USD.
The Wider World of Atari timeline, which includes 19 playable games and eight video segments, takes a series of deep dives into stories from Atari history, showing how Atari continued to influence creators and fans over the decades. New interviews, vintage ads, historical artifacts, and more have all been researched and presented with Digital Eclipse’s signature style. Highlights from the new timeline include a deep dive into Stern Electronics’ robot-blasting Berzerk; unusual and underappreciated innovations and hidden gems from the late 1980s; a spotlight on the artist Evelyn Seto, who helped create the iconic “Fuji” Atari logo; Pong creator Al Alcorn explaining the birth of Breakout; and an exploration of the fan base’s role in discovering unreleased prototypes, creating “homebrew” games, and preserving Atari history.
The First Console War timeline, which includes 20 playable games and half-dozen video segments, tells the story of the first major console war in the gaming industry between the Atari 2600 and Mattel’s Intellivision. The team at Digital Eclipse curates an exploration of the rivalry, including Mattel’s quixotic decision to create games for the competing Atari 2600. Highlights include a selection of M Network games, including some fan-favorites; a mix of Atari and M Network sports games, and some rare Atari 2600 and 5200 prototypes. New interview features include former Intellivision game director Don Daglow, M Network programmer Jane Terjung, Activision’s David Crane and Garry Kitchen, homebrew programmer Dennis Debro, and historians Leonard Herman and Mike Mika.
The new timelines and games will be offered to owners of the original Atari 50 release as DLCs later this year.

Comedy duo Yoiko checks out Luigi's Mansion 2 HD (UPDATE)
Scaring up new footage
Nintendo is back with another video featuring Yoiko, a popular comedy duo in Japan. Once again, the comedians have visited their friends at Nintendo to go hands-on with a game, but this time around they’re enjoying a game that needs little introduction.
Yoiko is a Japanese comic duo from Konohana-ku, Osaka that is employed by the comedy talent agency Shochiku Geino. Yoiko are known otakus, and the duo (kombi) was originally formed under the pretense of Shinya Arino as the boke (stooge) and Masaru Hamaguchi as the tsukkomi (straightman), but as time went on and Hamaguchi’s “natural stupidness” started to shine through, the duo became known as “the duo with no real distinction between the boke and the tsukkomi”.
In today’s video, Yoiko sits down to play the upcoming Switch revamp of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. While the video might not have a translation, it still offers up plenty of gameplay from the Switch revamp. Give it a watch and scrub through the video to see all kinds of gameplay footage not seen anywhere else!
UPDATE: Nintendo has released the second installment of their Yoiko X Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD series, and you can give it a watch below.

Shroom Siege, the team-based arcade action platformer from developer Upside Down Bird, germinates on Nintendo Switch in 2025.
Be a fungi and enlist in the mushroom militia. Aim for victory in one of three ways: Shrine, Shogun, and Poop! Collect and offer small orbs as tribute for a Shrive Victory. Clash swords and eliminate the opposing team’s Shogun three times to secure a Shogun Victory. Push a poopy payload across the map to plant a Poop Victory.
Play with friends in local or online 4v4 matchmaking to test those shroom skills.
More about the game:
The fungus kingdom spreads its tendrils and controls surrounding insectoids to claim dominance. Start as a mini mushroom with the power to infect and sway the minds of mightier life forms. Show off superior shroom strategy in 4v4 multiplayer madness.
Strive for victory in three ways: Shrine, Shogun, and…Poop?! Master multiple mounts to outwit opposing fungi, such as the merciless Mantis, equipped with razor-sharp claws to cut down the competition. Win three of the following Victories to emerge triumphant:
- Shrine Victory: Command Minions to collect enough small orbs to offer as sufficient tribute to surrounding shrines. Watch for danger and move quick! Minions respawn indefinitely, so going for the Shrine means playing it safe.
- Shogun Victory: Eliminate the opposing Shogun three times. Control the mighty flying Shogun and cut down any adversary lower than them with its samurai sword. High-risk, high-reward: fatal missteps bring the other team closer to their own Shogun Victory!
- Poop Victory: Force foes to smell the stench of defeat by mounting a Dung Beetle to slooowly roll a poopy payload to the opposite side of the map. Winners often report this as the most satisfying way to win. Losers often claim it’s the most humiliating.
Each single-screen map makes all characters and strategies visible at all times. Beyond quick reflexes and witty tactics, Shroom Siege also encourages communication and coordination. Gather friends locally or play online, forming two teams of four with cross-platform functionality. Join matchmaking alone or with a squad and test those shroom skills around the world.
“The original version of Shroom Siege was created during the 2023 Global Game Jam,” said Ben Hamrick, Developer at Upside Down Bird. “Like a mushroom, the project kept growing, and we hope others will enjoy our wacky, fast-paced multiplayer game.”
