MegaHouse revealed their PAC-MAN x Sanrio line back in October 2022, and nearly two years later, we’re finally seeing the line expand with a second series of goodies.

This second wave of PAC-MAN x Sanrio merch is set to launch in Japan come late October 2024, and it is an all-ghost affair on the PAC-MAN side of things. As you can see in the image above, the famous PAC-MAN ghosts are now wearing hats inspired by various Sanrio characters.

Each of these figures is priced at $4.20, which is almost double the price of the original PAC-MAN x Sanrio line. The ghosts come in pink, purple or blue shades, and the Sanrio characters represented include Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, Badtz Maru, Kiki and Lala Little Twin Stars.

Last but not least, those who missed out on the first PAC-MAN x Sanrio collab will have a second chance to snag the lineup, as they’re set to re-release in Japan come July 2024. Unfortunately, this re-release will also see prices increased to $4.20 per item as well.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. is hosting a creative and colorful pop-up event celebrating the video game icon PAC-MAN™’s birthday, with the big yellow fella marking 44 years since his debut on May 22, 1980. Taking place this May 25-26, PAC-MAN Shine On is an immersive event blending gaming, music, photo ops, giveaways, PAC-MAN appearances and more. Admission is free based on capacity, with activities and goodies for fans of all ages. The event will take over The Magic Box in downtown Los Angeles.

First debuted in New York City last year, PAC-MAN Shine On is a retro-futuristic reimagining of the legendary video game character, where nostalgic arcade aesthetics mix with a modern neon twist. The L.A. pop-up event will feature a life-size maze, classic PAC-MAN arcade cabinets, amusement games, aura reading photo booth, live screen printing and playable stations of the just-released furiously fast 64-multiplayer game PAC-MAN™ MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE™: CHOMP CHAMPS. The event is designed for all ages with photo ops with PAC-MAN himself, free games to play, giveaways, music including a virtual set by DJ PAC-MAN, food trucks and more.

PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS is a raucous take on PAC-MAN multiplayer, featuring cross-play for the first time and amping up game play with 64-player battles, a variety of colorful interconnected mazes, customizable PACs, and Power Items that not only boost players’ abilities but can also help the GHOSTS chase down the competition. The game is available now for preorder in Standard and Deluxe editions, with all preorders receiving the Chomp Challengers Pac Preorder bonus, and is coming to Nintendo Switch.

PAC-MAN MEGA TUNNEL BATTLE: CHOMP CHAMPS captures PAC-MAN’s insatiable appetite in a game where everything except the maze is edible. In the game, players must eat their way through multiple interconnected mazes to become the Chomp Champ – a.k.a. the last PAC standing at the end of each match. Gain the upper hand on other players or turn the tables against GHOSTS by utilizing a variety of Power Items which give PAC-MAN shields, enhanced speed, and more. Players can also sabotage their competition by using Power Items that help the GHOSTS. Not only will they be able to chomp through PAC-MAN’s regular diet of dots and fruit, but they can also chomp through other players’ PACs in true competitive head-to-head competition.

Ready to welcome players of varying skill levels, game modes include Elimination Mode with arcade-style action where players of any rank can compete and earn Tokens to redeem on customization items, and Ranked Mode where players battle against similarly skilled opponents from around the world and gain Rank XP earning their place on the leaderboards. With 63 other players per match, bling is the way to stand out in the crowd; players can customize their PAC with a variety of body, head, and face cosmetics.
