PAC-MAN costumes now available in Fall Guys
It's a PAC-ATTACK!
There’s no escape! Arcade legend PAC-MAN has found the route into the Blunderdome, with a Ghost in pursuit. The pixelated pair provided inspiration for two Costumes, an Emote, a Celebration, and more. Follow the dots to the store from 10AM GMT 27th July to 10AM GMT 1st August to gobble the goodies.
The PAC-MAN Costume’s giant mouth swallows up Beans like POWER PELLETS, enveloping them in a bulbous yellow outfit patterned with pointed eyebrows, pie eyes, and gloves. The less swole Ghost Costume drapes over players like a blue sheet with a painted on smile and eyeholes. Classic.
You can show off the new duds with the Waka Waka Emote, revel in victory with the POWER PELLET Celebration, or get lost in the PAC-MAN Maze Pattern. A few Nameplates and Nicknames are the cherry on top.
Enjoy our little moment of PAC-MAN in the Blunderdome!

Again, none of this is confirmed right now, but this retailer has to be pulling information from somewhere. Hopefully Nintendo confirms the news soon, and also mentions that North America will be getting the same treatment.
If you’re a big portable Switch player and you’re looking for something a bit more ergonomic, you might want to look into the HORI Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact. The device has been available for awhile now, but two special designs have been revealed.
In the picture above, you can see both Sonic and PAC-MAN versions of the HORI Nintendo Switch Split Pad Compact. You’ll be able to pick up each one of these for $60, and while we don’t know when the Sonic version is launching, you can pre-order the PAC-MAN design now, which will ship out sometime in October.
The Split Pad Compact attaches to the Switch system to provide a full-size controller experience in Handheld Mode. The ergonomic form factor fits your hands perfectly for increased comfort and control. Features include full-size analog sticks and D-pad, turbo functions, and assignable rear buttons.

Angels Stadium puts on a PAC-MAN Race for the fans
Who you got money on?
Exactly one year ago, Bandai Namco announced that it entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Los Angeles Angels that would see Bandai Namco corporate and product branding. Today we’re getting to see some of that collaborative content.
The video above shows off some of the action at Angels Stadium today, which featured all sorts of Bandai Namco and PAC-MAN branding. The main event was a virtual PAC-MAN race that featured Blinky, Pac-Man and the Rally Monkey.
The crowd gets to watch the video as the announcer talks about the action, and everyone is playing along to see which character crosses the finish line first. Today’s race just so happened to see PAC-MAN take the gold, but there will be plenty of other PAC-MAN races to take place throughout the season.
PAC-MAN 99 eSports Challenge pits content creators against fans at PAX East
Someone's giving up the ghost
Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. announced the culmination of the months-long PAC-MAN 99™ Challenge is taking place today, March 24, at PAX East in Boston. The event brings together popular content creators with competitors from among their viewers who battled it out for the right to compete in the Final Showdown. Four creators, Lana Rae, D-Piddy, 5up, and Khleo Thomas, will bring their top game and their top team members to compete today from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. EDT live in-person at PAX East’s PAX Arena. The competition will also be livestreamed on the Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. YouTube channel, which is posted above.
Launched in January, the 2023 edition of the PAC-MAN 99 Challenge is an esports tournament where these creators and their viewers faced off in the battle-royale game PAC-MAN 99™to see whose community reigned supreme. During weekly online tournaments, each creator challenged their fans to ten matches to determine who they would ultimately recruit for the finals event. The live event at PAX East now pits the best players from these competitions in a heated battle for sweet PAC-MAN prizes, including an arcade cabinet from Arcade1Up. The competition is hosted by esports host and Twitch personality, Reinessa (www.twitch.tv/Reinessa), with live commentating by Lyric (https://twitter.com/LyricOfWisdom), Ajax (https://twitter.com/AJAX_HQ), and VikkiKitty (https://twitter.com/VikkiKitty). The live event is open to PAX attendees, where they will not only be able to cheer on the players but also play PAC-MAN arcade games and even meet the legendary icon himself.
With more than 10 million downloads on Nintendo Switch™, PAC-MAN 99 brings back the classic game play of the original PAC-MAN with new competitive game mechanics and a lot of Ghostsfor a one-of-a-kind battle royale experience for up to 99 players. In the game, players must eat as many Ghosts as they can to slow down their opponents with Jammer PAC-MAN. The more Ghosts they eat, the more Jammers they send. Game play involves eight different strategies, from speed-up to send extra Jammers and more. Switching between strategies at the right time can be the difference between who becomes Ghost fodder and who outlasts to become the PAC-ONE.
Uniqlo X MoMA collab results in a series of videogame shirts
A unique collection of shirts
Uniqlo has quite a history of offering videogame shirts. They’ve teamed up with various game companies to release all kinds of designs over the years, including a Splatoon 3 line that is available in Japan right now. As for options outside of Japan, a new series of gaming shirts is available right here in the states.
Uniqlo is offering shirts based on five games (Katamari Damacy, Sim City 2000, Space Invaders, Tetris, and Pac-Man) that come from the visual language of video games collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. The designs are meant to be a more artistic or stylish approach on gaming shirts, and each one is priced at $25.
You can see the Katamari Damacy design above, and you can check out all the other options through this link.
Uniqlo partnering with MoMA to create t-shirts based on Tetris, Katamari Damacy, and more
Dress for success
The Museum of Modern Art (or MoMA) in New York City recently held an exhibition titled “Never Alone: Video Games and Other Interactive Design”. The exhibit featured examples of numerous classic and modern games that the curators felt best exemplified the power of the medium. Now, MoMA is expanding their video game collection by partnering with clothing company Uniqlo to create a series of stylish video game t-shirts.
There will be five t-shirts total, and each one will incorporate the MoMA’s branding along with imagery based on the following games:
- Katamari Damacy
- Tetris
- Space Invaders
- SimCity
- Pac-Man
Each shirt will cost $19.90, and you can check them all out via Uniqlo’s online store. They’ll be on sale sometime in early March 2023. See more photos below.
PAC-MAN 99 hits 10 million downloads
Have you given this one a shot yet?
I’d consider myself a pretty big PAC-MAN fan. For example, I listen to the PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 PLUS pretty often! I guess I should fire up that soundtrack today, as there’s yet another reason to celebrate PAC-MAN!
Bandai Namco has announced that PAC-MAN 99, the ‘Battle Royale PAC-MAN’ experience available only to Switch Online members, has reached 10 million downloads worldwide. That seems like a pretty fantastic number for a PAC-MAN game nowadays!
If you haven’t given the game a go yet, today is just as good a day as any other! Hop into the action and see if you can outlast 98 other PAC-MEN to become the last PAC standing!
Hamster has announced that the next title coming to the Arcade Archives series is Marvel Land, a theme park-based arcade platformer game originally released by Namco back in 1990. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch on December 15th, 2022, priced at $7.99.
About the game (via Namco Wiki):
The player takes control of Price Paco, and must venture throughout the game’s sixteen stages, split across four worlds which contain four stages each. Paco can aquire a variety of powerups, such as clones of himself that he can swing to defeat enemies, dash boots that make Paco run faster, and dragon wings that allow him to jump higher. Each world takes place in the eponymous Marvel Land theme park, with some stages being based on funhouses and even rollercoasters that twist the screen upside down. At the end of each world, the player must defeat a boss in a game of rock-paper-scissors or tug ‘o war; and should Paco defeat the boss will save one of the several fairies in the game. Paco will then be transported to a special bonus stage where he must collect stars before time runs out; and these stages feature numerous cameos from other Namco games, such as Pac-Man, Wonder Momo, Xevious and Bravoman. Additionally, Namco’s receptionist robot Uketsuke Komachi and assistant robot Kyūji-kun appear at the start of each world.
You can take a look at a gameplay video for the arcade version of the game below.
